Sliding Scale Pricing
postpartum doula care
Every family deserves steady, trauma-informed support as they navigate postpartum.
I offer a sliding scale to honor a range of financial realities while also supporting myself as a care worker.
This is a trust-based system. You know your situation better than anyone else. I don’t require proof of income, but I ask you to reflect honestly on your resources, access, and long-term stability when selecting your rate.
If you’re not sure where you land, the tier descriptions below are here to help you find your honest fit.
Choosing a higher tier directly extends care to another family who needs it. Lower tiers are made possible by the generosity of those who pay it forward. There’s no wrong choice, only the choice that honors where your household is right now.
Sliding Scale Tiers
Tier 1 – Community Supported
This rate is reserved for families who face systemic or acute financial barriers to traditional postpartum support.
You might choose this rate if:
- Meeting basic needs (food, housing, healthcare) is a struggle or not always possible
- You receive or are eligible for public assistance (EBT, Medicaid, SSI, etc.)
- You have no or very limited savings or expendable income to cover baby essentials
- You’re facing debt incurred from survival necessities
- You rent lower-end housing or are in an unstable housing situation
Tier 2 – Sustainable Rate
This rate represents the true cost of my labor, time, and ongoing training. It allows me to maintain a sustainable business.
You might choose this rate if:
- You can regularly meet your basic needs, even if it requires budgeting
- You have a modest emergency savings
- You have some debt but it doesn’t limit your access to everyday essentials
- You have some paid leave or have saved to fund time off
- You can occasionally budget for extras or travel without risking access to basic needs
- You have stable housing and some financial breathing room
Tier 3 – Pay It Forward
This rate is for families with more financial ease, lifestyle comforts, or resource flexibility to extend support to families in need.
You might choose this rate if:
- You have steady income and can afford baby essentials and comfort items
- You have assets like savings, retirement, or investments
- You can comfortably afford vacations, time off, and care without financial burden
- You own your home or rent a higher-end property
- You have access to higher education, generational wealth, or family support
- You are able to leverage your resources to subsidize accessible, trauma-informed care for marginalized families in our community

what people are saying
I didn’t realize how much I was carrying until I started talking with Lorrae. I knew I was grieving and angry, but I didn’t have the words for it all. Lorrae never pushed me to explain my whole story or unpack my trauma. She just got it. She made space for my feelings, even when I couldn’t name them, and helped me move through it at my own pace. I felt really understood and seen, and it was the best support I think I’ve ever gotten for my mental health.
I’ve never had someone show up like that for me. I didn’t even know what I needed. I just knew I couldn’t keep doing it alone. Everything in my life has felt like survival mode for so long. This was the first time I felt supported without feeling like someone felt pity for me. Lorrae’s support felt like a soft place to land in the middle of everything else being so fcking hard. I cried so much on our first call just from the relief of being met like that. It felt like the first time someone saw me as human, not broken.
I’ve always been the one holding it together. Asking for help hasn’t felt easy or even possible for most of my life. But talking with Lorrae felt so natural and non-judgemental. I didn’t have to pretend I was okay or push everything down. I could show up messy and unhinged and it was totally okay. I started to understand what real support could feel like, not just in a crisis, but with any emotion. through all of it, without trying to rush to fix it. I’m learning that I don’t have to carry it all alone anymore, and that asking for help can actually feel good.
